How will they top that first opening ?!
Although, if they did get the second season - what the F was with those last two episodes ? Needless, artificial, stupid drama for no reason. Utterly wasted episodes. The trademark of comedy shows that dont get the second season. But this one did...and still decided to screw up the finals. Japan...
Well, to put it in perspective, from the 10 chapters of the first volume - 4 chapters did not make it to the anime. They were not amazing chapters, mostly, but still.
Two chapters from the second volume. Two chapters from the third volume, one of which made it into second season. And so on.
Episode 3 was remarkably moving, in a comedy. For my money, this is one of the best series around, almost always entertaining, moe, and with heart. A-1 does a good job with both animation and sound. It's a perfect package, leaving us with good character development also.
Second season is different from the first, but it is still great stuff.
Speaking of sound, i noticed it. Meaning, i am AWARE of it. Which is not a good thing. Music in a series is at it's best when it's organic and not noticed unless you focus on it. It's how it's supposed to be, ideally. But this season i think they dropped the ball a little, in a second episode that eurobeat song at the end was highly ill-fitting, third episode the music was often too loud at odd moments, drawing away your attention...first season had better sound direction i feel.
Holy shit... That episode 11 came so unexpected... Especially after following ten and the weird direction with the faces... Holy shit, that episode was good AF... Loved it! LOOOOOVED IT! #nohomo
Last episode ends with possibility of third season, and it ended well. Slight improvement of plot from last season, with a lot more character development, but the core romance is not progressing much, if any, because.... well that is the point of the series.
No Chika song, but we will soldier on without a moe special until the blurays come out. It's a decent series, worthy of more.
This was as great as the first season and I liked it even more. The sense for humor found here is rare in recent anime, and great direction, very clever screenplay and good production values make this show stand out from many other series.
As others here I also liked the serious tone in some episodes. And while I would have wanted to see some more development between the two mains, I still was satisfied with the small signs of change we got.
Rather weak finale episode, but, given that these kinds of series are designed to get you interested in (and purchase) the source material, it very much did accomplish that goal.
This was even better than the first season! Komi was a welcome addition, too. However, like season 1, this suffers from a over-dramatic last two episodes as well. I don't really get why they had to make such a drastic change of tone in episode 11. Shinigami's past was way too depressing in this otherwise so wholesome show.
Anyway, an OVA and another anime continuation (probably S3) has been announced already and I'm looking forward to it.
